Gov. Zulum distributes food items from the federal government and inspects projects in Monguno

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has distributed 20 trucks of 25kg rice donated by the FGN in Monguno. The distribution targeted households affected by insurgency in three local government areas. 

Governor Zulum also launched the Borno State Government's agricultural support for 45,000 rural women which include ₦10,000 to cover transportation costs to their farms, along with a wrapper each.

The Governor appreciated President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for the FGN efforts which is will compliment the state government's existing humanitarian efforts. 

The Borno State Government also distributed cowpea seeds to heads of households and acknowledged the receipt of 90 trucks of fertilizer for free distribution to farmers. The Governor reiterated the state's commitment to distributing all received items to deserving communities.





While at Monguno, the Governor also inspected ongoing projects, including a Dental and Eye Hospital, as well as a School of Nursing. 

In a statement following the inspection, the Governor explained that, his administration is decentralizing the existing Dental and Eye hospitals in Maiduguri, as well as the School of Nursing to improve healthcare services and address the shortage of manpower in the health sector. This involves building new facilities in each of the three senatorial zones to enhance access and provide more opportunities for training healthcare professionals.
